The K2 Kinetic 80 is the perfect inline skate for beginner or casual skaters looking for a quality skate at an exceptional price. Available for both men and women, they are an affordable and excellent option for those on a tight budget. The K2 Kinetic 80 Pro is a slightly upgraded version of the Kinetic 80 that features a convenient speed lacing system.

The Kinetic 80 is easy to skate and provides a smooth and controlled ride. K2’s SoftBoot® design is renowned for its comfort keeping your feet happy and rolling for longer.  K2 added the Stability Plus Cuff, allowing excellent power transfer from your body to the skate. The Kinetic 80 comes with soft and grippy 80mm wheels and ABEC 5 bearings. The composite frame allows for a low center of gravity while dampening road vibration for a smooth rolling ride.

Kinetic skates are true to size, with most skaters able to order the same as their shoe size to enjoy comfort out of the box without needing to break them in. If you are looking for a quality entry-level skate, the K2 Kinetic 80 or K2 Kinetic 80 Pro are excellent choices at a reasonable price.

The Rollerblade Zetrablade is the perfect entry-level recreational Rollerblades at a reasonable price! These skates feature excellent quality, supportive high cuff, comfort, and stability that Rollerblade is known for. The secure closure system combined with a monocoque frame lowers the center of gravity, providing better balance and control. The skate offers excellent support and the right amount of flex out of the box. A MyFit Basic dual-fit liner provides excellent cushioning while the closure system keeps your foot perfectly in place.

Although the One Zoom 80 is the budget model in the Zoom line, the shell and cuff are the same as on more costly Zoom models and USD Sway aggressive skates. The skate comes with extruded, stamped, and CNC machined frames. The only downside to this skate is that the frame is riveted on, meaning they are not removable nor adjustable, meaning you won’t be able to upgrade to a different frame in the future. Four 80mm 85A Powerslide Hurricane wheels with Wicked ABEC 7 bearings allow you to cruise the city easily.

The Rollerblade Macroblade 90 is the ideal skate for someone looking to upgrade from their older skates and wants to skate a little faster. 90mm is a great “go-to” size for wheels, and the fit and support of the Macroblade 90 are incredible. The higher boot design helps add more stability when learning to ride taller 90mm wheels, thus creating a better sense of stability and control when skating. The liner utilizes engineered mesh for added breathability and sock-like comfort. It has all the cushioning needed to make learning how to skate more pleasant.

The skate’s aluminum frame adds more power transfer and durability. The closure system is easy to use and secures the foot to maximize fit and comfort. The skates come with 90mm 85a Rollerblade wheels and Rollerblade SG9 bearings, providing the right amount of speed and control without going too fast. The Macroblade 90 is available in men’s and women’s models.

The Rollerblade Macroblade 110 skates are ideal for intermediate to expert skaters who want to go fast. The skates feature a full-height boot cuff design for lateral support. Ventilated knit uppers and a secure 45° buckle/strap secure closure system with speed lacing make this an easy, lightweight choice for faster skating. This skate will get you rolling wherever you want, as fast as your legs allow, landing them on our list of The Best Rollerblade Inline Skates.

Phuzion is a quality fitness skate line from Powerslide designed for skaters of all levels. They are a solid choice for skaters just learning to skate to advanced skaters who want to take their skating even further. Powerslide made these skates for people searching for an agile, comfortable, solid, and potentially upgradeable fitness skate.

The Powerslide Phuzion RFC 90 unisex inline skates are a modern revival of Powerslide’s eco-friendly Greenline Phuzion line introduced in 2008. RFC stands for Roll For Change, making these the perfect skates for people concerned with the environment while providing fast and intense workouts. With the Phuzion Radon Bronze 90 skate, Powerslide decided the target audience to be women, which means they aren’t available in bigger sizes like the RFC 90 Skates are, so anyone with larger feet is out of luck. For men, we recommend the Powerslide Phuzion Radon Enzo 90. The Radon’s plastic shell is reinforced with glass fibers to create a solid and rigid boot that is supportive and offers excellent energy transfer and vibration dampening.

The Phuzion RFC 90 boot uses eco-glass-fiber reinforced plastic, 30% recycled materials, and 15% wheat. The integrated liners utilize recycled foam padding and bamboo, while the uppers are made with canvas, hemp, and cotton. The skates use no PVC or chemical inks, not even on the wheels. The Radon Bronze 90 skates have integrated liners with EVA foam and anatomical padding for a comfortable fit with little to no break-in. The uppers are a combination of a soft boot with TPU welded reinforcements.

Both skates use the Trinity mounting system that is adjustable both laterally and from front to back. The beauty of the Trinity system is that Powerslide makes frames for every discipline of skating that you can mount onto this boot. Trinity mounting gives you exceptional balance and control by bringing the wheels closer to the boot and giving you a lower center of gravity, improving stability and power transfer.

The Phuzion RFC 90 comes mounted with lightweight and durable Powerslide Elite frames made with 40% raw recycled aluminum. On the frames, you will find four 90mm / 83 A Powerslide Phuzion Eco wheels with Wicked ABEC 7 bearings. The Phuzion Radon Bronze 90 skates feature shorter Elite cast aluminum frames that are easy to maneuver and agile. Mounted with three Powerslide Phuzion 90mm / 83A wheels and Wicked ABEC 7 bearings, the frames can fit a max wheel size of 100mm.

The Phuzion line is perfect for long-distance skates, urban skating, and aerobic workouts. All models come with an adjustable HABS brake. The Powerslide Phuzion is one of our top picks on the best inline skates and rollerblades list.

The Powerslide Swell Bolt 110 inline skates are a high-end fitness skate perfect for more demanding skaters looking for excellent performance and quality. The 3D Adapt lining is light and comfortable and molds perfectly to your foot, providing unparalleled control and comfort while lessening vibrations and improving performance. They are ideal for intermediate to advanced skaters who want to go fast, get in shape, and improve their endurance. The skates are versatile and perfect for fitness, commuting, marathons, and long-distance skating.

Powerslide’s power-knit material looks similar to running shoes, giving the swell skates a cool look and athletic aesthetic. The 360° lace wrapping hugs your foot, providing comfort and support. The glass fiber-injected plastic shells and cuffs are remarkably strong and rigid, resulting in great energy transfer in your strides and ultimate control of the skates. Powerslide has modified the Swell Bolt boot and padding to accommodate wider feet.

The uppers use an abrasion-resistant material and reflective strips to keep you safe while skating at night. Height-adjustable spacers in the cuff can move up or down to adjust forward flex. Upgrades to the closure include ratchet buckles and additional material around the lace holes.

Trinity mounting gives you exceptional balance and control by bringing the wheels closer to the boot and giving you a lower center of gravity, improving stability and power transfer. The Ego frames are rockerable, allowing you to go from a slalom setup to an urban setup in seconds. Solid aluminum base plates allow for multiple frame mounting positions

The FR FRX 310 Inline Skates are an excellent budget version of the FR1 skates. They have a rigid hardboot that is firm and responsive for urban and freestyle skating. The cuff is the same as on the more expensive FR1 version, except that it has standard screws instead of using a canting system. The skates have replaceable slider pads to protect the boot when doing wheel slides. Inside the boot, you will find a comfortable, anatomically shaped liner. The closure system features standard lacing, a plastic cuff buckle, and a 45-degree Velcro strap. The FRX 310 includes X3 frames with FR Street Kings 110mm 88A Wheels and TwinCam MW7 Freeride bearings.

I love the power and responsiveness of the 3×125 setup when skating fast and playing on urban terrain. The skates feel light on your feet, even with the big wheels.

The aesthetics of the black and white dual-color injected shell, with the reflective highlights, made me fall in love with these skates. My favorite time for urban skating is at night when fewer cars are on the roads. The reflective elements on the skates give me a sense of security, knowing that cars can see me better.

The Rollerblade Twister XT is one of my all-time favorite skates! They boast plenty of features to ensure comfort and stability on city streets and long-distance skates on paved trails. They are also excellent skates for commuting to work with. Unlike previous Twister models, which caused pressure points and hurt my feet, the Twister XT is one of the best-fitting skates I own. Rollerblade redesigned the Twister XT to ensure comfort and stability, and the new liner is unbelievably comfortable.

The all-new fit features a modified, lighter shell and a footboard sizer, which gives a performance fit. The liner and insole improve stance and skateability with upgraded cushioning, improved wrapping, more breathability, and shock-absorbing padding in the heel. Powerslide removed the 45-degree ratchet buckle on the Next SL Pink 80 to make them look more streamlined while reducing weight, giving it a slimmer profile. Both models feature a canting system on the cuffs allowing you to adjust the amount of forward flex to your preference. Can you add a buckle to these skates? Yes, you can! The modernized soulplate, designed by Kyle Sola, is more streamlined, lighter, and robust. The frame is mounted directly to the shell so the soulplate can be removed for big wheel UFS setups. A benefit of this soulplate is that the recessed areas allow bigger wheel UFS frames, like Oysius, to be used without making modifications.

The cuff has been redesigned, given a standard buckle, and has exceptional buckle protectors built into the mold to protect them when missing tricks or falling. The strap is now mounted with three screws, allowing you to tighten the skate more efficiently. The Blank Liners are comfortable, have strategic padding, and stretch neoprene toebox. An included footboard sizer adjusts the size, and the Performance-Plus Insoles use a rubber outsole and a silicone strip to stay in place. The Rollerblade Blank aggressive inline skates come with Blank Frames, Hydrogen 60mm wheels, and Twinxam ILQ-9 Bearings. The Rollerblade Blank is one of our top picks on the best inline skates and rollerblades list.

The Roces Fifth Element is the perfect skate for beginners and people getting back into aggressive skating. Unlike the Roces M12, which is very compact and slim, the Fifth Element is one of the widest aggressive inline skates on the market, yet it works well for any foot size. The Fifth Elements are much easier to learn tricks with than the M12s due to their wider two-piece souls, which slide incredibly well.

The low cuff offers a lot of maneuverability, and the dual-injection boots are more flexible around the lacing and thicker in areas that require more durability—allowing for a better fit when lacing up your skates without compromise. They offer a Memory Foam Liner that is very comfortable out of the box. The UFS Frames are mounted with four 60mm / 92A wheels with ABEC 5 bearings. Roces is very good at picking colors and seems like one of the only brands that own a Pantone Color Matching book.

Roces has joined the corporate trend of manufacturing sustainable products. The boots are made with 47% cornstarch-based plastic and high-grade polyurethane, come in 100% plastic-free packaging and have recycled liners with recycled lining and padding. The Roces Fifth Element is one of our top picks on the best inline skates and rollerblades list.

The USD Aeon aggressive inline skates are an excellent lightweight unibody skate for beginners (and experts) overwhelmed with all the boot and frame options, making them the perfect flat setup out of the box. They combine the shell, soulplate, and frame into one single mold and offer a large wheel split with an impressive groove for easy grinds. Due to their wide and generous design, you don’t have to worry about wheel bite. The flat option is also great for people getting into skating because it allows for a smooth ride and helps your style while just skating between obstacles.

They have lowered the center of gravity to give considerably better control over the skate. The divergence from the UFS system allows for multiple molds allowing for 60mm, 72mm, and 78mm wheels that sit as “low” as standard aggressive frames. The cuffs of the Aeon are available in two versions – soft and hard and can be set in two height positions to adjust flex. Include wicked bearings and great liners. The USD Aeon is one of our top picks on the best inline skates and rollerblades list.

Them Skates has had an immense impact inside and outside the industry through product innovation, collaborations, and its close association with streetwear culture. Them is the brainchild of Jon Julio, who, together with Kyle Sola, designed their flagship Them 909. The Them 909 aggressive inline skates come complete with the Them UFS street skating frame, 58 mm 90a Wheels, ABEC 5 bearings, and either Them V4 Liners or Intuition Liners depending on the model.

The latest skates feature aluminum buckles with an engraved logo and V3 soulplates with a larger heel area. The interior walls of the soulplates are thicker and longer-lasting, yet the skate still feels lightweight. The soulplate is mounted to the boot with eight screws, making the skates more solid and stable. The H-block of the frame is lower, preventing wheel bite. The redesigned liners have an excellent heel lock and position your foot more forward. There are several models of the 909 skates currently available. The Ennui All Around Wrist Brace is the ultimate wrist protection, based on medical arm brace technology, that keeps your wrist in an optimal position to prevent injuries and recover more quickly from the ones you can’t avoid. Mesh on the side of the guard helps with airflow, and the multi-strap design alleviates pressure points caused by traditional straps. The large slide plate on the palm of the guard is backed with foam to offer ample protection and comfort.

The Ennui Street Wrist Guard features a large slider plate on the palm and an ultra-stiff splint on the back to give top-notch support. The liner features a mixture of neoprene and CoolMax fabric to increase comfort, while three velcro straps keep everything in place.

The Ennui Shock Sleeve Knee Gasket slides on and fits snugly around the knee, wrapping it in a spiderweb of ‘super foam’ that cushions impacts and saves your skin from nasty road rash. Skaters who shy away from the heavyweight protection offered by the much bulkier knee pads on the market will love these gaskets and their lack of restriction. The gasket is mostly polyester, with elastane strips inside at the top and bottom to help lock the pad in place and prevent slippage. Ennui uses MyFit SPC foam coated in thermoplastic rubber (TPR) to provide impact protection. Since this is not a genuine hard plastic cap, higher-impact skating disciplines may seek higher protection levels.

The G-Form Pro-Rugged Knee-Shin Guards are my pad of choice! I’ve been skating different versions of these for the past eight years, and I love their durability, comfort, protection, and fit. The pads are made with SmartFlex™ — body-mapped, impact-absorbing pads that offer form-fitting and lightweight protection for your knees and shins that is flexible as you ride and hardens on impact. I’ve taken some really hard falls on these and am positive that I would have cracked my knee and split my shin open on multiple occasions without these.

The G-Form Pro-X3 Shin Guards feature SmartFlex™ protection that is flexible as you skate yet hardens on impact in the event of a crash. And SmartFlex pads are fully waterproof, so machine wash them as needed.

At some point, every skater will have to do skate maintenance. The best tool for the job is the Sonic Pro Inline Skate Tool, which offers excellent leverage to change wheels, extract bearings, tighten screws, and more. The ergonomic handle of the Pro Tool is comfortable for shop technicians to use all day but compact enough to take on a roll. This latest variant features Hex and Torx bits to fit most brands of skates, as well as a bearing extractor, bearing pusher, and floating spacer aligner.

The Bont Bearing Press is a MUST for every inline skater who frequently changes bearings. It is hands down the favorite tool in my arsenal, and it brings me joy every time I use it. One end serves to press bearings into your skate wheels, while the opposite end allows for easy bearing removal. If you’ve seen any of my skate reviews on YouTube, you already know I rave about the Bont Press every chance I get. The Bont Bearing Press is a gift any rollerblader will love!

For a more precise measurement, measure the length of both feet from the heel to the end of your longest toe. You can do this by standing on a piece of paper with your heel against the wall and with your socks on, marking with a pencil your heel and toe. Measure the distance of both feet and correspond your longest measurement to the sizing chart below. For information on how to measure feet click here.

Most skaters select their shoe size when buying skates. However, measuring your feet is a good idea to get an accurate measure. Stand on a hard surface and place the heels against a wall for a more accurate measurement. Measure both feet and refer to the longer heel-to-toe measurement.

Your toes should not be pressed against the front of the skate or feel cramped. They can slightly brush against the front of the skate because the heels will settle back in the skating position to make more room for the toes.

Inline skates offer a similar fit to shoes, and you should expect some break-in time for the skates to adjust to the shape of your foot. During the break-in period, your may experience pressure points, but these will go away after skating a few times.
